okay, but i'll take pics next sunny day i'm out for a ride. the garage doesn't provide enough light. next month its off to a buddies for engine and suspension work. it'll probably be gone for a month or so. we're thinking carb rebuild, exhaust valves, water pump and determine where the bearing noise is coming from. new suspension pkg. my sway bars are .875 front and .75 rear. what does that do?  stiff ride and loose rear?

I'm not too sure about the sway bars but tell us what year your 'vette is and we can find out!

7/8 front is the std small block bar and the 3/4 is the std bigblock bar.  I'm surprised that you don't have a serious oversteer problem with that much rear bar.  The small block gymkhana (FE7) setup was 1 1/8 front and 7/16 rear.  That's what I put on mine and it gets rid on almost all of the understeer inherent in the factory design.  Which is where I want it cuz if you get close to neutral, it makes the car real easy to lose    if you're not careful.  Which is why cars come from the factory setup to understeer.  It's a lot safer.

I saw this definition on another forum and thought I'd share it with you here.

Understeer - when the front of your car hits the wall
Oversteer  - when the back of your car hits the wall

Stock small block setup is 7/8" front bar and no rear.  Gymkhana (FE7) is 1 1/8" front and 7/16" rear.

73shark,
thanks for the infos about bars and under-oversteering.

I'm searching for more infos and lit about c3 handling. I know there's an article by Greenwood "Vette improvement program" but can't find it on the net. Any help?
