Well, there are electric superchargers under development that do work - they have some big advantages: they require no power when you don't want the boost, go to full boost instantly, are quite simple and durable, etc., but they require 42 or 56 volts for the motor (and high amperage at that) and so only fit the "next generation" of automotive electric systems (most cars will have 42 volt electric systems -- three times today's, in a few years, to run the more advanced electronics coming down the pike -- electric "cams" and suspension springs, etc.). However, this isn't one of them. It looks to me like a converted leaf blower or similar, and at the 14 volts available (when the motor and alternator are running) in a contemporary car, you can't power enough of a motor -- maybe 3-4 HP max -- to get any significant boost. You'd need about 25-30 Hp for a SC that would do anything very useful in the KIA Sportage mentioned in this offer.
