ok guys the results are in... bacically took it to the dealer next door where i work because theres not alot of vette mechanics where i live.. as we all guessed it was the reverse synchro but he called me today and said i need a new rev gear synchro an all the little washers o rings etc.... i was quoted 1500 but then with the gear an basicallly rebuilding reverse total cost comes out to 2700.... sux then the jerk says well u should just rebuild the whole trans cost 4000 dollars.. yea ok im 22 years old in college an the forward gears were working perfect so yea typical dealer trying to outstretch the problem....

You might want to find out how much a factory-rebuilt tranny costs. Typically, they have all the latest updates and should be more reliable than a local shop rebuild.

I bought my first Corvette when I was 21, but I was working full time. I can't imagine being in school and owning a very-expensive-when-new sports car as a daily driver.

Good luck.

Dave
