I replaced the fuel pump awhile back and the fuel filter. I only run 93 octane from BP. Have not had a problem. It just stalled right in front of my driveway a few days ago. It popped a fuse. Put in a new fuse and have not had a problem since. The gas gauge reads full unless it it's on the reserve tank and then its accurate for two, one, and zero bars. I thought it was the digial dash causing the problem but it has been rebuilt, resoldered, and new bulbs put in and is perfect! Could it possibly be the fuel sending unit is causing the short and blowing the fuse and also causing the inaccurate gas readings? Im lost. It's going back to the shop but I would like to have an idea of what is wrong and hope that it won't happen again. It is quite dangerous especially if I was on the interstate. Appreciate any help that can be given. Oh, I would like to add that the mechanic said he can rebuild the sending unit if that is the problem. True?
