Hey Guys,
I'm thinking of buying this 1982, I wanna hear your "expert opinion" on this Vette.  Any feedback would be great.

I only know what the book says;  it has the one year only special edition hatch back and a special interior w/ leather door panels and afew other things.  The automatic was a 700 R4 instead of the 350 Turbo, a great change as it makes it a much friendlier highway car, a topic that's been on this site many times in many ways.  It did come w/ the Throttle body fuel injection which alot of peepz don't like.  It is easy to change if you didn't like it.  I'd say that w/ the exception of the dead-beat engine of that era, I have the carb version,  it has the best over-all set-up of the C3s.  And if it's an automatic, it has the rear fiberglass mono-leaf spring.
I think that someone on this site has one of those cars along w/ a newer Vette.  That's the person you need to converse w/.   Good Luck.

The vette is on ebay, I will test drive it this Friday.  I ran an autocheck report on it and it pass with flying color.
Will see what happens.

Try to get it up on a lift and check frame between wheel wells and any damage or repairs.  Most other things are remove and replace.

It was the first of two years (82 & 84) for the Crossfire Injection system which was basically two throttle bodies as Texas Jim stated on a cross-ram manifold.

Good luck.  Let us know how it turns out.

Hey Payton - I'm the guy with the 82 CE (and an 2004). I bought the 82 about 8 years ago after a 2 year search. I wanted that specific car. I love the C-3 and after doing all the research I fell in love with the CE. (My plate is 82 CE) I'm not all that into getting that extra horsepower and all so I'm not bothered by the smog era horsepower.  I drive it because it looks good and feels good. It is only 200 horse but it feels very fast. With the automatic, it feels faster off the line. I don't like the 85 MPH speedo, but you could replace it with an aftermarket speedo that will go to 140 or 145. I have had zero trouble with it (knock on wood). The crossfire injection has given me no trouble as some report. The ride is a little stiff as you would expect with that year, but it handles well. If you keep in mind its an 82 and not an 04, its a blast to drive. I get tons of compliments due to the rare paint job. (I know its not that rare - about 6500 were produced) but its rare when compare to all the C-3's on the road. I'm not a motor head and I'm not the most knowledgeable corvette owner, but I do know, I love this car. Any questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best. Joe W.

hey Jwerkjr,  his reserve price was 11k.  I passed on the 82,  too many red flags.  I'm looking at another 1982 CE on Friday, hopefully this one is better.

$11K is a big red flag.  A nice '82 CE would run in the $20K-$25K range.

Well guy, I'm 0 for 2 on these 1982 CE corvettes.  I wish sellers would be more honest about their Vettes.  However, viewing these CE were very educational too say the least.  Thanks guys for replying.
