That should reset itself. Try cracking the lines on the master cyl. one at a time while someone steps on the pedal to see if you getting any fluid out there first. Sounds like a bad master cyl. If you changed the master and didn't bench bleed it first you'll never get it to work.

Hello Extanker and Rich G.

A Little History.
I bought this vette 10 years ago, used it on the street for about a year, then tucked it away. The brakes were always a little spongy, even then.
I'm bringing it out of hibernation now and replaced all calipers, rotors, pads and rubber brake lines.
Master cyclinder bleeds fine as well as the front calipers.
I guess I'll have to just do it right and buy the complete brake line kit and proporting valve from Ecklers.

Thank-You guys for you're time.

do put a new master but i doubt the valve is bad.to get the light off [if it doesnt go out after bleeding] have some one hold psi on pedal then open any front bleeder enuf to SLOWLY let fluid out ,inside guy will tell you when light goes out ,close bleeder right away.if its still on go to any rear and repeat. the trick is to close that bleeder quickly when the light goes out

My 3/4 ton van sat for awhile prior to my buying it and when I replaced the pads, calipers and cylinders, front disc and rear drum, I wasn't getting any fluid to the back brakes.  I had to blow the lines out w/ my compressor.  There was a clog somewhere in the metal lines going to the rear.  I just went through the whole thing from front to back as I figured if it had crud in one place it may have some in another.  A semi-time-consuming chore, but the only way to do it right.  Good Luck.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all your advice.
I tried bleeding the master cylinder one more time and you guessed it,nothing but little spirts of air coming out.
Put the new one on tomorrow and see what other trouble I can find.
