I am about to start a 1977 L-82 restoration, can anyone point me to where I can buy a copy of the shop/repair manual/manuals?

Thanks

Hi again, you can get the service and shop manuals and the Assembly instruction manual (aim) from any of the Corvette Catalog houses, and you can get a Haynes repair manual at any auto parts store, PG.

Go to www.ecklers.com , they have all the manuals, and you can get them year specific.

Haynes,...........don't they,.............make underware?

( sorry, couldn't help myself.. )

Yes, like these guys said, get one of the basic tune-up manuals, "Chilton" if possible.  The best manual that I've come across, not because I have one, is the "GM Corvette Shop Manual" for your specific year (only) from the parts department at the Chevy dealer.  It has mostly "Third Shop" info and above, not much operator or basic tune-up level info, but has ALL the specifics for your year 'Vette not found in any other manuals.  It goes as far as breaking down the transmission, A/C compressor, carb, etc.
The best of luck to you.  I know it'll be a great project, I'm alittle jealous, well, alot jealous.  Again, good luck.

Early 77 had alarm key in fender, late had alarm in key at door handle.T top gasket had different number of small plastic pins within the gasket. More or less pins from early and late.17 pins vs. 19.You'll need to check on that. My 77 is down to just the body, totally dismantled. It's been 1 1/2 yrs to date. Was L 48.

a wiring diagram is also a good idea as the repair manual doesnt show you all the wiring in the car. a GM factory repair manual and an assembly manual(AIM) for your specific year vette is also a must if your going to work on your vette.
