My ''98 corvette is showing the "Service Column Lock" code in the display.  Anything I can do to fix this to be able to drive it to the dealership?  Or do I have to have it towed in?  With the column lock recall, would the dealership be responsible for the towing?  Thanks

I have had the same problem but when I went to the dealership they stated that the service to correct this problem was already performed and had only a year warrenty. WTF if they didnt fix a recall part in the first place shouldnt still be able to get fixed out of their pocket? Since the dealership is being gay and probably wantin a pretty penny to hopefully fix it for real this time is there a way that I can fix it myself?

Just an update, the service column lock is due to a draw on the battery and the battery going dead.  I had the car towed into the dealership and they are looking for the short before fixing the column lock.  They have had my car for 12 business days now with no luck finding the short yet.  I have been assured that they have a quality Corvette mechanic looking into it and they will call me when he finds the problem.  One thing about it, it is only costing me $125.00 for diagnostic.
