Hello everybody, I'm a newbie here lol. well today there was this corvette owners' club race thing in my city, and there were tons of corvettes there. there was a slow course race track set up so all the owners could do time trials. well this one guy there is an engineer for GM, and he drove a new Z06 all the way from the plant to here so he could race it. i went over to check it out and it was AWESOME. it was black, which made it look REALLY kool. when he was just driving it around, it sounded like just any ordinary car. it even was quiet when he was racing it, until he got to the straight away and nailed the throttle. you would NEVER think that it had 7.0 L of displacement. it just seemed so...civilized. it was great!!!

my friend got to go in it when he was racing it. she got some pics of it too. i'll ask her to email them to me and then i can put them on here.

awesome! i look forward to the pics! was it painted black, or in black primer like a test car?

i guess it was a preproduction car. they will take it apart in a few days, but it at least LOOKED and SOUNDED like it could have been a production car. i don't even have words to describe it...it was SO AMAZING as u watched it go through cones then slow down for a corner. after the corner there was a straight away and he totally opened up the throttle and it soared. it was soo sweet!!!

Isaw a silver one at atlanta car show saturday. Rep told me price was to be 78,000? i was hoping 68 to 70 but this may be too much. I have a 2002 yellow Z06 with 20,000 miles just doesn't seem worth trading to me. thinking about investing 6,500 in supercharger and having a faster car.

There were tons of vette's at this show. my friend's dad has an 04 commemorative edition Z06 that he raced. it was funny because his daughter got a better time than he did and she was driving an unmodified 94 C4 convertible. and he was supposed to be one of the best drivers there lol.

and btw, once you see this thing fly you might reconsider trading your 02 Z06. putting a supercharger on your car would just better your drag times. it wouldn't increase the OVERALL performance. but lol that's a no brainer. haha

Dear Aston, I just picked up the new Z06 two weeks ago, and you're right, it sounds like a regular vette (maybe a little loppy), but brother, when you open her up, she sounds awesome!
