question about the Dana 44 in my ''81

Is my carrier a 3-series carrier?  Does anyone have any information on the Dana used from ''80-''82.  My car has 2.87 gears being an automatic.  The manuals were standard with 2.72 and an optional 3.07.  No one will sell me gears because I don''t have the 3.07 carrier, but when I look up Dana gears in the manufacturer''s catalogs they say their gears will fit 2.72-3.73 carriers and Duntov Motors.com says my car comes with a 3-series carrier and will sell me any gearset 3.07 thru 5.87.

I want some RPM''s, do I have to find a manual transmission carrier? My gut says no

Try these guys.

The 80 - 82''s are different. If you have a ''79 or earlier there is no problem.
