I am new to the vette world, i am a recently converted mustang man. :P Anyways, i just bought my first vette a few weeks ago. It is a 2003 50th anniverary addition. It juat rolled 80 thousand. the first thing i did was change all the filters and plugs/wires. But it still has a bit of a rough idle. She runs good besides that. Any ideas?

Vacuum leaks will cause up and down rpms at idle. In a brand new motor, or in a lawnmower - same result for a vacuum leak.

Hello, When I bought my ''99, I had a rough idle issue also. I replaced the plug wires and plugs and it cured the problem. The main culprit was a cracked plug boot, but replacing the plugs help too. More than likely, with 80k on the vehicle, they are the original plugs. CG

Pour a can of good quality fuel injection cleaner into a full tank of gas. Lots of crap can build up in the injectors over 80k miles. I would try this twice before I started to spend any real money to fix things. Next thing I would look for is a vacuum leak. Sometimes if you lesson real close you can hear the hissing. You can also sray some brake or carb cleaner around the manifold etc and if the RPM picks up that''s where the leak is. Good luck, Schoon
