does anyone know the actual hp/tq numbers for this engine. i know all the literature states 390 hp/ 500 tq. is that correct or is it higher/lower. what components came on the engine initially all i know was it was an iron block iron head possible 2 or 4 bolt main with a holley or rochester q-jet. any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance everyone

I only know that it was 10.25 to 1 compression ratio and 390 HP and it was the first year for the 454 in the ''Vette. Down to 8.5 and 365 hp for ''71.

Came w/heavy duty battery. 454/390 for Automatic, 454/460 HP @ 5600 4-speed, Torque 490@3000

LS-5 was 390 hp @4,800 and 500 ft-lb @ 3,400. Q-jet, hydraulic cam, 10:1 CR LS-7 was 460 hp but never was released. From Corvette Bible.
