will this fit my 1990 coupe and is it an easily done weekend project?  I was wanting to swap from the stock 2.59 gears to 3.73. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-7-5-7-625-3-73-Gears-From-Posi-Camaro-Firebird-Jimmy_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ011QQitemZ320279851647QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

That''s a damn good question.  Wish I had answer but definitely interested in correct reply.

(Would definitely give you, and me, a better hole shot.)

OK, I''m not 100% sure, but that set appears to be for a Chevy 10 bolt rear axle, what we have is a Dana 36 (autos and all 84''s) or Dana 44 (4+3''s and 6 speeds), so I am going to say "No".

Even it was the correct gear, unless you have the knowledge, shims, a press, ad a dial indicator,  to set proper backlash and end play, a definite NO! An experienced tech could do it 5 or 6 hours.

I agree with all....I would say no.There are Corvette-specific upgrades to rear-end ratios,if you''re willing to spend some money.If you have an auto,you would have a Dana 36,like me.Corvette Central has these rebuilt differentials you can buy,provided you have a good core...the 3.73,which I myself am considering,runs for $1295.00.It''s part # 584223.Hope this helps...Joe

Dont leave out that guy who parts out his car on Ebay. Many a good deal could be had, but you got to know exactly what you want and how to inspect it when it comes. Paypal and ebay  have systems in play to dispute bum transactions,  if somebody turns out to be a dirtbag. Just a idea .
