I have to put the car on hold for awhile.  I leave in about 2 weeks for deployment in the Navy.  I will be back in March to finish working on the car.  I won''t be able to go to any forum sites so I will see you all in awhile.  Thanks for all the help this year.

Dan

I believe I recommended this before. It worked for me I got the tip from another Corvette owner. Takes about 20 minutes. Remove old Therm Stat.  Punch it out put just the Thermo Stat Shell back in Put gasket and housing back and tighten bolts. This allows greater flow but not to much. It lowered my Temp almost 30 degrees. The only draw back is you might have to replace Thermo Stat when Winter comes. Made my Summer Driving much more pleasant.  Try it I did and it worked! Please let me know. I had put new radiator and trans cooler, new heater core. Still ran hotter than I wanted Till I punched out my Thermo Stat.

Good luck on your deployment.  Can you say where you''re going or what you''re on?

Thanks for your service from a Navy vet.

For sure, thanks for serving.  The country needs more like you.  My father was a WWII Navy vet.  I did my time, 2 tours in the Army, ''75-''83.  I was airborne,a pathfinder and a French Commando school honor grad.(w/ the French Army)  For sure some of the best times of my life in a million different ways.
If possible, drop us a note here on the forum.  I''m sure no one will mind a "Navy" topic even though it''s alittle off-topic.  Good Luck and stay safe.

Lots of good advise here so far....  Only other thing you might look at in addition to what was already mentioned might be the fan shroud. I have a 73'' and it was pretty warm when all the aero cooling stuff from the General was not in place and in good condition.

Thanks for your service to our country!!!

We are not sure where we are going yet but I am sure we will be heading east quite aways.  I will be on the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50)for a few months and then transfer over to the Theodore Roosevelt (carrier).  I will attack the cooling system in April.  Car cover is on and it is stoored for the winter and spring.  Thanks for all the help.
