i have just finished painting the body and the jams and i am thinking that during all the wet sanding that i might have fouled up somthing. I noticed that the reverse light''s worked but not anymore, also the brake light''s dont get brighter, and the turn signal just started screwing up. I think it might be in the turnsignal control unit in the steering. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi iwantfast, not sure what year your car is but on my 74 with auto trans the back up lights are controled with the neutral safety switch which is under the center console. Pink wire brings power in and when the switch is closed (shifter in reverse) the power goes thru the green wire to light up the back up lights. On a stick shift the switch is on the trany. At the rear the yellow wire is for the left brake and left turn signal. On the right a dark green is for the right brake and right turn signal. Brown wire is for the tail and license plate light. Check and/or replace the turn signal flasher (under the right dash) and see if that fixes it. Also chech the pigtails, where the bulbs go in and make sure the 1157 bulbs are installed properly. PG.
