I''m having similar problem as to another member had with a 1992 Vette with starting.
I have a 91 convertible with auto and when you turn the key you hear a loud click from the starter area but the engine does not turnover. It does not happen everytime! There is almost a deadspot as you can continue to try and after a few times, sometimes more times than others, it will fire and it will be fine for a week or so, then act up again.
The battery is brand new, all terminal clean and tight.
So I want to remove the starter and replace, but there are all kinds of pipes underneath, such as fuel and transmission lines.
Any suggestions how to get it down???
