Hi all,

Is it possible to install an exaust system (mufflers) on an ''04'' in your own driveway without having to take it into a shop to have it done?

I did with out any problems. I only had a jack and jack stands. I also just did an exhaust on my Subaru STI with only a jack and jack stands.

It is easier the higher off the ground you can get the car.  Jack stands or a set of ramps get it up a bit but sits a squirn and twist job underneath with only that much ground clearance.  If you can rent a space in a garage with a lift it may be worth it, but you can do it in your drive way if you don''t mind contorting a lot.

You have to get the back end up about 39 inches and we had to swing the sway bar out of the way to get the right side pipe out. I used 6x6 wood piled on my floor jack, but don''t get your body under the car while in that state!

Hate to wimp out on this one, but I had Mid America Motor Works install a set of Corsa''s on mine.  The installation was only $100 - and was done by professionals that really care for Corvettes.  I thought for the money, it was well worth it.  They are in southern Illinios, but they also sponsor a huge Corvette show just west of Chicago about the 3rd week in June.  They have install shops right on the grounds and can install anything you want as you wait.
