84 auto
good

motor has 900 just put into it, has gaskets and such done, turn key and start immeidatly. smooth idle.
alpine sound system
targa
chassis is CLEANNNNN.  I struggled to find rust

issues

cracked front window
seats = ****
front bumper, just a corner is melted (long story, lol)
lights behind dash dont work
could use paint (lip and spoiler I intend to install would need paint anyway =P)

I didnt bring the buyers guide with me thats posted here on the forums, wasn''t expecting to check it out.  passed it while going to my grandma''s to drop off some stuff (she broke her arm).

I did test drive it and yeah the power is lacking (didn''t floor it with him in it).

Motor being the biggest issue in my choice of purchasing a project car and that it has. How hard is it really to update to the TIP injection as well as a semi-auto shifter?

Hello again,my friend.....the price sounds ok,but still, let it go...consider an L-98 car to start with.A lot easier to work with AND upgrade!!! Wish you the best,God bless...Joe.

How much of the work CAN you do? how much of the work do you WANT to do? Everything interchanges ''til you get to the LT1''s and the LS motors. Many of the dreaded ''84 electrical gremlins live in the induction system, changing to TPI or SFI would eliminate some of them. Late 80''s,early 90''s totals are out there reasonable. Do you want to change the engine loom and dash loom? That''s the GOOD news! The bad news is you could easily put 5 or 6 K$ on top of the $2500 and several hundred hours of labor and end up with a $4000 car. If to you, like it is to me,it''s in the DOING-Go for it! If it''s economics maybe you should pass. My $.02.

Help with the cross-fire might be tough to come by...

Lower power? Not a big deal; you''re not racin'', and anyway, a good tune is WAY more important than power from a poorly tuned motor...

Sounds like a good price to me.  You might get it for $2,000.  I saw in one of the Corvette catalogs that a hood for an 85 was about $1,800.  Correct me if I am wrong.

You are gonna get what you pay for. Spend a bit more (time and money) and find something nicer.
