Started with a 84, CFI... New 4bolt main, everything is new heads, pistons rings, cam, valves etc.. I want to remove the EGR/ EGR block off. as well as removing the air pump. The first problem is i have a code 33 and 34, is this related to not having the EGR valve hooked up? I just have a custom made block off plate installed. 2nd problem: I cant keep the car idleing, I keep having to fight the engine computer, because of the code 33 and 34. How do I tell the computer not to do any thing for the timing?, or atleast ignore the fact the EGR is missing etc.. Thanks for the help in advance, Drew

You''re gonna'' have to get the shop manual to see what the computer looks for before it trips up a code for a fault detection. For later C4''s, a leak in the EVAP cannister plumbing (which gets purged through the EGR feed), will trip up an EGR fault (DTC32).

well I got the MAP sensor errors fixed. the engine is idling great for the 2 minutes I had it running. Then I noticed the sparks comming off the harmonic balancer where it was rubbing the frame. I order a replacement thats only 6.5 diameter rather then the 8inch diameter. I will put it on this weekend and complete the rest of the laundry list. The car should be completed including the paint job, before the track opens next year. I just cant wait :)
