quote:
ORIGINAL: PAY2PLAY Also without knowing the stoke and the bore of an engine can I use the liter size to determine it? for example is a 5.7L always equal to 345 and is a 7.0L always equal to 427? A liter is always 61 cubic inches. Thus, 427 cubic inches is exactly 7 liters -- 427/61 = 7.0 liters 366/61 = 6.0 litters 346/61 = 5.7 liters 305/61 = 5 liters 281/61 = 4.6 (Ford Mustang V8 or GM Northstar V8) 256/61 = 4.2 liters (Jaguar, either the straight six in the XKE or V8 in the much newer XJ) 220/61 = 3.6 liters (my Porsche) 183/61 = 3.0 liters 122/61 = 2.0 liters

I run BFG drag radials on the rear of both cars on the street, wish Goodyear made a 345x18 tire in my size, and we run Mickey Thmpson slicks on the Camaro at the track.

Bore Squared X Stroke X .7854 X The number of cylinders = Cubic Inch Displacement.
