Has anyone out there had any experience in swapping out the rear gears on a C4? i.e., 92. I have been told that the entire rearend assembly (housing, hubs, etc.) must be replaced in order to change gears. Have had experience with older Chevy, Mustangs in the past but not a Vette. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

On a c-4 not that hard is cheaper to get a unit and swap than to put in gears. remember to change gear in tranny so that speedometer reads correctly. I have a 254 set with only 20,000 mi on them . I put in 308 which is option for 93. anything from 86 t 96 will fit.

I know some websites that have step by step instructions with pics for the swap process. Let me know if you want some links
