I am new to this forum and I am in need of some much needed advice. I am thinking about ordering a 2006 C6 within the next month and I would appreciate some advice from current C6 owners. I am going to get the dual roof package and Z51 performance package added to my vette. I am not all too sure if the 1SA interior package is worth the extra $1500. I really don't need the automatic seats, but if there is a major difference in appearance and comfort, then it might be worth it. If there is anyone out there who can help me decide which options would be worth the extra dough I would appreciate it.

Also has anyone heard of a price increase between the 2005-06? And has anyone been able to buy there vette under MSRP?

I am very glad to be a part of your forum and look forward to hear some feedback. Thanks.

Randy

im honestly not sure if we have a C6 owner yet...cant the dealership lend a hand with your decision? I know that they will always try to up-sell you, but i would think that they could provide you with some examples.

I have a new C6 and get the interior package with power seats it is worth it. the z51 package is good if you like to race and are under 30 yrs old. Take it for a ride, I'm too old for it over 40. Its a stiff ride. The magnetic ride is a great option it allows for sport or touring ride, its a hell of a better ride. C6 is a great machine and a bargain for what you get. Nothing compares to this 400 hp ride.

I just ordered a new vette, but depending on when the build sheet is processed I don't know if I will get an 05 or an 06. I paid $2K over invoice, which worked out around $5K under MSRP. I ordered Mag Ride, 1SB, Monterey Red, Nav. I am from Washington, if you want me to put you in touch with my rep I can ask if he will give you the same deal. This is my second vette from this dealer.

Howdy,

As others have told you...it depends on your driving style and personal taste. I have a new 2005 C6 Z51 with all options. I am not an automatic transmission guy so mine is the 6 speed. The Tremec six-speed manual gearbox in the Z51 is one with more aggressive acceleration characteristics that emulates the performance of the C5’s landmark Z06 model.

It has the 1SB option. The memory seats/steering wheel/mirrors are a nice touch for two drivers. Also the heated seats. Outside mirrors are heated like the back glass. The nav system with its voice and touch screen can be helpful. The Bose system really sounds good with the XM radio. On-star can be a safety and convenience item.

As for ride...the Z51 does NOT come with the Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC) option as it offers more aggressive dampers and springs, larger stabilizer bars, and larger, cross-drilled brake rotors for optimum track performance capability while still providing a well-controlled and comfortable ride that my wife thinks is great. Track testing has shown that a C6 equipped with the Z51 suspension almost equals the lap time of a C5 Z06!

Lastly, the Z51 gets a different version of the Extended Mobility Tires (EMT) run-flat which is an asymetrical tread Goodyear F1 Supercar tire with 19x10 on the back and 18x8.5 on the front.

As others will tell you...the C6 is the quietest, smoothest Vette yet.

I hope some of this helps!

Enjoy your car no matter which one you choose!!

Doesn't the Z51 option also come with an engine oil cooler???

I'm thinking of getting the Z51 option for all of the added benefits, but am worried about the stiff ride...

How stiff is it??? I guess the only way to know for sure is to test drive one...
