How to safely store second top (fiberglass top) ?

I've got the 2 tops on my 01 coupe, and I'd like to run around with just the glass targa for now, without having to place my body colored top in my hatch (to give myself some storage room in the trunk). What can I do to safely store this fiberglass top? Can I just lay it on its side or lay it down flat someplace? I know they sell storage bags on eBay, but thus far have been unable to find any mention of whether or not they warp if they are stored incorrectly.

Thanks,
Tim

RE: How to safely store second top (fiberglass top) ?

I ran into the same problem. I looked all over and found several places that sell racks to hold the tops. Ecklers is one. The racks can be mounted on the wall, or stand alone. The racks are expensive, so I looked several over real good on theweb, then went to a Corvetteonly supply and looked at one up close. I took pictures of it with my cell phone, then went to Home Depot and lowes and bought supplies. I built my ownpadded rack andsecured it to the wall studs in mygarage. I havethe top covered with a padded cover so it won't get dirty or a ding. The entire top is supported so that the edges won't get damaged and the weather striping won't get laid flat or creased. It cost me about $15 compared to $150 and it does not take up any space in thegarage. I mounted it high enough the kids can't mess with it

Get a holder made for your top.
