1966 L36 rating

Nolan Adam's book discusses the introduction of the L36 and the initial rating of 400 HP including documentation of a build sheet displaying that rating. Any idea if the early cars had an air cleaner decal labeled as 427 400HP rather than the 427 390HP?
Has anyone seen documentation of the 427 400HP rating ?

I haven't heard that before. I do know that the early '66 w/ the hi-po 427 had 450 hp air cleaner decals but around 11-65 they started using the 425 hp decals.

Window Sticker

I was lucky enough to secure a copy of an original early 1966 Corvette L36 Window Sticker. It is an early 66 car and L36 does in fact state 427 400HP. Now we have been told on other forums that no cars left the plant with 427 400HP decals on the air cleaner although the paper work didn't catch up until a little later. I know there are decals out there stating 400 HP. As an example at LI Corvette:

How do you know that is not a decal from a 67, 68, 69, 427 with 3 deuces?

Decal

Marc:
You know better than I do, did they use this air cleaner decal:

In addition to the semi-circle one underneath for the 3x2 set up?

Didn't realize the 3X2 400 hp decal had the 3X2 on it. Just thought maybe it might be what you were referring to since it's the only 400 hp engine of that era.
