Leaking Calipers

My 66 Corvette has not been driven in awhile , the other day I noticed a caliper was leaking slightly. The calipers are all S.S. sleeved and have lip seals. Would it better to go with calipers that have been O ringed instead of lip seals ? Wanting to get it out of the garage and drive it some this year.
Thanks , Gene

I'd try rebuilding the caliper first.

Ok ,I thought I would try rebuilding the leaking caliper, now trying to get the bolts out that hold the two caliper halfs together they torque to 120-140 lbs. Somewhere I heard loosing them while the caliper is still on the car but socket won't fit between bolt and mounting bracket, have to find a big vise somewhere to hold the caliper while I loosen the bolts with a long breaker bar.

When I did mine, I had to bolt the work bench w/ the vise to the wall in order to torque the bolts.

The DOT-5 brake fluid will cause leaking to caliber - not sure what you are utilizing. In some cases it reacts with the rubber seals and they expand.

Not sure where you heard that but I've use silicone brake fluid for years and I do not have any leaking problems.
