1969 Left Door Courtesy Lamp Switch

Today my left door Courtesy Lamp switch starting smoking and then the fuse blew??? I pulled off the door sill and kick plate and removed the switch and ohm'd out the switch and noticed that the white wire is grounded. Is this correct???
