Hello, new to this forum. hoping someone might help.I am currently having my 75 painted. I would like to pick a color that belongs on a 75.The car was originally brown, but I am leaning toward a blue.Is any one out there able to post a sheet ofpaint chips that are period correct for corvette in 1975. THANKS TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP.

If you just need the color names then I can give you those. For instance, Corvette Steel Blue Metallic and Corvette Bright Blue Metallic are the two blues available. My brochure doesn't show the colors tho. You might try going to Dupont or RM websites and see if there's any info there. Or maybe someone else here can help. ;)

Oh and welcome to Corvette forum. :)

Hi djsc3 and welcome to the forum. In 75 you had 10 color choices, in Ecklers they show only the interior colors, so you may have to go to a paint supply and see if they have some chips.
O'Reilly just opened in N C and they gave out a calendar, my car is white but if I ever repaint it, I'd go for the car for May, a beautifull orange with the ZL 1 black trim.
Happy Hunting, PG.

yup any body/paint supply house will have all the colors for that year. You could go to PPG's website as well.

here's a good starting point....The second link is '75 specific. Have fun

Thanks blueshark, that's a good web site.
Hard to believe the prices back then, $ 6000.00 brand new. Cost me $ 22,000 and I ain't done yet!

Mine stickered @ $6,600 and paid $5,500. Ordered it.

Website is good but found two mistakes just for '73s. Said in on place that tires were F70s and actually were GR70s (first year for radials) and that you couldn't get Dark Saddle w/ Orange Metallic. I did and wasn't special order.

Got Mike Yager's new Corvette book for Christmas and it had some similar gaffs. I guess the message is to take all of these sources with a grain of salt.

Congrats to blueshark on Car of the Month! Awesome. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

yup, there are several misnomers on the site, seems to be minimal but you really never know. It says something about only a few being painted black at the factory even though it was not offered. My now yellow and black '73 was originally solid black or someone went to a lot of trouble to make it look that way. It will be that way again, soon. I'm like you though Shark, If Chevy kept better records it sure would have been nice. and thanks again for the kudos. I still can't believe RJ's or Scotty's didn't win out over my '73, there both wicked nice.
