69 Corvette information needed

Due to my brothers death Inherited all his stuff. Eight or more Junker pickups. A 56 Chevrolet, that was a fast car in it's time in the early 70's. It has some possibilities, but has been sitting 40 or so years. A 69 corvette that has been sitting since the 80's in a shed.He removed all the trim, had it painted. Doing a test drive the motor failed. a rod or a maim more likely a rod bearing. At my age 77, I have enough projects to last me m the rest of my life. I would like to have an idea what the car is worth with a bad motor. The body has no damage. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.

What it's worth is dependent upon a lot of things such as is it a coupe or roadster, big block or small block, 4-speed or auto, and all the possible options. There are some websites that deal in used Corvettes that you might check to see if you can gain any ideas on possible value.

How can I find out what body style I have? Will the vin help? Stan

There's only two body styles. A T-top Coupe and a Roadster. Yes the VIN will tell you which body style it is. But I believe you can tell just by looking.
