78 with courtesy light problem
The lights work with the timer plugged in, but wont go off. Any way to bypass the timer so they will cut off as soon as the doors are closed?

RE: 78 with courtesy light problem
Welcome to the Corvette Forum. Not familiar with the '78 system but if the timer is mechnical, probably easy to fix. If electronic w/b a little harder but might be able to replace.

Glad I don't have that option. ;)

I agree it's a bit overpriced for two bucks worth of electrical components - but when you gotta have one, you gotta have one!

RE: 78 with courtesy light problem
Glad I have a 74, when I open the door the lights come on, when I shut it the light goes out, what does the timer do anyway? Does it slowly let the light get dimmer and dimmer untill it goes out? PG.

RE: 78 with courtesy light problem
It is a delay timer - it keeps the courtesy light on until you put the key in the ignition - or it keeps the courtesy light on for about 30 seconds after you exit the car and close the door.

I have the same problem with my 80 vette. Did you ever find out what the problem was. Did you get a new timer. If so how much and where. Thanks in advance.
