79 Anti-theft issue's

Let me first start out saying I am new to the forum and what a great forum it is. Ton's of great info
and friendly people. I would like to wish you all happy holidays and a great new year..

Ok, I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out..When I turn my headlights on the instrument panel lights will pulse and then blow the fuse, so I figured it must have been a short in the wire somewhere so I rip the dash apart and trace the wires and find no short.. So then I rip the center consol apart thinking maybe there is a short somewhere there, still nothing so I decide to pull the anti-theft relay plug and that does it the lights stop pulsing and the fuse doesn't blow...

So my question is where to start... Can I leave the anti-theft relay unplugged? Where would I start to troubleshoot this issue. Has anyone had a similar problem like this that care to share there solution?

Welcome to CF!:)
A Merry and a Happy to you too!
You might try unpluggin' the relay and doin' a Ohms test on each terminal ot the plug.

Welcome and the best of the new year to you and all others. I am new here as well and find it an excellent place.https://www.corvetteforums.com/micons/m8.gifYou might also want to check your hood switch and door switches, for the alarm,to see if one of themare shorting out.Electrical can be challenging.:( Good luck

Since the alarm relay is what pulses the alarm horn on and off, try looking to see where or how the lites are connected/shorted to the relay.
