Bubba VI: Return of the Bubba

Today started out great. I was finally going to put in my new torque converter a new deep pan for my trans. I started unhooking everything and getting ready to drop and roll out the trans when bubba struck.

I have to cut out my exhaust hangers, because instead of putting the castle nut, cotter pin, and some lock tite on them like normal; All the hangers were welded to the frame.

Oh he did a bang up job with my 76.
This is the short list of things I've fixed since I got it.

New shocks. Old ones were originals
New alternator. (Chrome alternator had the wires crossed, frying the alternator)
Rewired the electrical. Old amplifier was wired to the cruise control. Cruise control was removed years ago. Rewried amplifier to the radio like it should have been.
New power steering pump and control valve old ones were both shot
New torque converter, old one didn't match the cam at all.
Rewired vacuum relays. Old ones were done by parkinsons patient with bad eye-sight.
Had to fix the tachy. Old one was never hooked up. (Why? I'll never know.)
Needle Nose pliers that somehow became welded to the frame of the car.... for absolutely no apparent reason.
Headlights needed to be replaced (One ones were out of fluid *snicker*)
Redid the timing. It was off to the point that the car stalled at random points.
Tightened up every bolt on the engine and exhaust. Old one never had lock-tite put on.
Retuned the carb. Old settings pretty much showered people with gas.
New radiator cap. Old one was cracked.
Fixed the E-brake. It was disconnected and then never reconnected.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that just gives you a general idea.

RE: Bubba VI: Return of the Bubba

I saw Bubba today. He has an answer for every thing. :)

The needle nose pliers were to hold an extra set of keys.

The amplifier to the cruise control, was to help with maintainin' speed on hills.

Fried chrome altenator, dinner for two.Yum, yum...!

"Rewired vacuum relays. Old ones were done by parkinsons patient with bad eye-sight." Hire the handycapped program graduate.

Emergency-brake disconnected, a rockin front ofa tire works just as well.

"Retuned the carb. Old settings pretty much showered people with gas." Saves on the cost of gettin' a double pumper.

"Redid the timing. It was off to the point that the car stalled at random points."
The ol' "out of gass" ploy when out with Bubbette.

See, it ain't so bad as ya thought. ;)
