A/C re-installation

I need to re-install my A/C system on my '77 after completing my restoration last year. The old system wasn't working before and so I have a new compressor, hoses, seals.....the works. But I can't seem to find a good resource for putting it all back together again in do it yourself style. Can you all recommend a resource for A/C assembly?

Thanks!

RE: A/C re-installation

An assembly manual will show how and where everything goes. a repair manual and electrical wiring diagram are veryhelpful as well.

RE: A/C re-installation

Uh, yeah, I already have the assembly manual section for the A/C system and the Haynes manual doesn't mention spit on the A/C system assembly. These don't show anything about which seals and o-rings go in the system. I have a baggy of new seals (Ecklers) and no manuals/instructions show what/where they go.

RE: A/C re-installation

Should be an O-ring at each connection unless it's a flare connection. Large suction (low side) hose connects between compressor and accumulator, small hose (high side) connects between the compressor and condenser, small aluminum tube (high side) connects between condenser and expansion valve. You may have a sight glass in the high side tubing and pressure switches in the accumulator and sight glass.
