FlowMaster"s for 74

Anyone have FlowMaster's on their C3.
My 74 has Comp Headers with stock pipes. Feels like a ton of back pressure.

I have under the car chambered exhaust, If you want a loud car, thats the way to go, it sounds faster than it is, 74's have only 190 HP, mine is a 74 T Top.

Why do you want to make more noise pollution???

I HAVE FLOWMASTERS ON MY '80 AND JUST FINISHED INSTALLING A SET OF DYNOMAX HEADERS..CAR SOUNDS NICE WITH A DEEP RUMBLE BUT NOT TOO LOUD..JUST ENOUGH TO LET YOU KNOW I'M THERE..I LIKE THE FLOWMASTERS AND I THINK YOU WILL TOO..ALSO, THEY FIT NICELY ON THE CAR...HAVE FUN-RUSS:)

What size exhaust are you running?
What Flowmaster's do you have the 40's or 50's

I was just thinking of doing the same thing for my 73. Where does everyone have their mufflers mounted (stock location or moved to under the car)?? 50 series ok, i dont want something as loud as 40s but a decent sound above stock. Thanks guys

My mufflers are in the stock location. Problem is the stock exhaust is 2" and Flowmaster is 2 1/2"
This means you need to upsize from the headers on back.
If you decide to go this way use #50 Flowmasters the 40's are to loud and the noise will be absorbed by the fiberglass.

i am running 50 series with 2.75" exhaust..cats removed, crossover pipe installed and the mufflers in the stock location..everything is tucked in real nice.. nothing hanging or the mufflers turned on an angle..the flowmasters fit straight up and i hit them with flat black heat paint so they are barely noticeable under the car from the rear...Russ Oh, painted the headers VHT white..

What make headers are you using? Is your engine stock small block or big block?
How does it sound.

i am running dynomax headers and they wer'e easy to install!! the vette sounds nice, nice rumble!!the smallblock is mildly warmed over but i am constantly upgrading..so far: old school Crane Fireball cam, Pete Jackson gear drive, Edelbrock performer 600 carb on stock intake..already coming and soon to be installed: Power Plus Crosswind Air Gap intake(polished), reworked Holley 600 vac secodary dual feed....of course this will mean i have a hood clearance problem and i will probably solve this with an Ecklers L88 hood..nice winter projects while the car is off the road...Russ
