Found my Corvette

I got my project car. 1980 Corvette. 383 Stroker

Photos are from several years ago. Today it is dusty and dirty, been sitting for several years, but starts and runs. It will need some TLC and I'm looking forward to input from the forum on what and where to go. I know the power steering leaks as does the transmission, so those will need to be addressed fairly soon. Price was right so I'm happy.

Congratulations on finding your car! That looks really nice.

Thanks. Got the car home and up on the lift. Lots of stuff to do starting with sealing the leaks in the steering arm and ordering a bunch of suspension parts to replace those things that are original. Also need to work on the carb (Holley 750) to get the accelerator pump working. The diaphragm was shot, so that got replaced, but it is still not squirting.
Much more to come. Fun...

If you're in to doing your own carb work what l have found that works really well is to disassemble carb,(or just the parts you want to clean) spray with any good cleaner and let stand 5 minutes. Drop into a pot of boiling water for another 5to10 minutes. Remove a blow out. Ready to assemble when cool. I use a camp stove in the shop to keep the wife happy.

Nice ! I’ve always loved the C3 generation, had a 79 that I was building into a street warrior. So much you can do with it and you don’t need a computer degree to work on them. Have fun and keep us posted on the progress

Got the squirter working (the Discharge Check Valve for the accelerator pump was hung up), so the engine is starting and running better now.

Below are some photos I took today to document my starting point on this project. Just waiting for parts to start arriving now..

I'm thinking of installing a Holley Sniper EFI system. Has anyone done one of these yet and are you pleased with the results?

Faded paint. Going to see if this can come back, or will it need a repaint?

Surface rust, but this undercarriage is solid.

2-1/2" exhaust - Not exactly stealthy...
