Front body removal..

Hey guys I am new to the forum and had a quick question about a 79 L-82. I have just purchased this car for a good price but the whole front clip is busted and needs replaced. I have done body work in the past and I have worked with fibergalss my question is where is the best place to buy body parts and what is the best way to remove the whole front body clip? I have read that most is glued on and would have to be chiseled off or something. Any tech tips you experts have would be greatly appreciated....

You might like to check out www.ecklers.com. They have lots of body parts, and complete front ends.

Post some pictures of the body damage from the inside and out. It may not be too hard to fix. Pretty much anything fiberglass can be fixed. If you do have to remove body panels get an air saw to separate the glued joints. The small reciprocating type with the thin blade. home depot or Lowe's or any body shop supply house will have it. the glue can be found in the body shop supply house and places like Eklers or Corvette America. Eastwood carries the tools and glue as well.
Oh yea! welcome to the greatest site for Corvettes and their owners. Cheers

So.....is the air saw blade thinner than say, a "Saws-All" blade?
I have a Milwaukeereciprocating saw.

RE: Front body removal..

Yes. about half the thicness if not less. Thinner even than a jigsaw blade. about as thick as steel banding. very small, short and somewhat flexable. they are some times called a body panel reciprocateing saw.
Look here for saw and blades. Cheers
