I am a new member to the forum and first time "Lurky". I am posting to get a weigh in from those of your with a working technical knowledge of C3 corvettes and a taste for a mystery. Or perhaps a witty quip you would like to purvey. I will give the back story once I have seen a few memorable responses. This will have a practical purpose in the end so I thank you in advance for your replies.

I have provided pictures in my albums for your scrutiny. Please comment as you see fit.

And a little something to wet your beaks.

Thanks,

The OP

"Lurky" definition- One who is lurked by lurkers.

Welcome to the forum.

What did you have in mind?

A little more info then. This is supposed to be a 383 stroker with 450hp at the crank, worth 8k. I was hoping to get a few gurus to chime in. I have already drawn my own conclusions.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess you'll need to take it to some place where they have a chassis dyno then to find out what the actual HP is.

The real issue here is whether the engine is worth the 8k. I care very little what the actual HP numbers are. It is a question of value in relation to the car.

Considering what you can get GM crate engines for with a 3 year warranty, I would say it's not worth $8,000 as an unknown.
