Default Carburetor or something worse?

HELP! Anyone.... 1978 Corvette! 350 small block. See the video here and tell me if you know what this sounds can be... what the issue can be? I accelerate and I hear pops.

Ok... so I had some mice get into my car for a month... poop & pee and wire damage!
It sucked... and my insurance took care of it by sending it to a corvette specialty shop. They took really good care of it... so good that they overhauled the carburetor as well as the wires. However, when I got my car back it wouldn't start as it normally did... I had to flood the carb (keep foot on gas as I turned the key). Instinctively, I told the tech it was running lean! He gave me some story about the gaskets are bad and oil is getting into the spark plugs and that is why it is having a hard time starting.

Took it hope... replaced plugs, fuel filter, oil filter and changed oil to 10 W30. New air filter and oil pressure switch. And still a hard time starting. Two days later I drive it on the freeway and give it good gas... and then I hear this pop sound from under the hood. Roll it into a mechanic... his first instinct that the fuel adjustment on the carb is bad. Took it back to the Corvette shop last week... haven't heard from them since... but I'm relying on some professionals from this forum to give me some leads on what the hell this is. Appreciate this group and I look forward to any help.

Welcome to the forum.

Could it be a misfire on one or more cylinders? Might try replacing plug wires and distributor cap if you haven't already done so.

Thanks @73shark!

That's comforting to know! Plug wires were replaced by the Corvette Shop... but the distributor was not. I hope that is all that it requires.
Before picking up the car they told me it was a "strong engine"... but driving it lean for the two days that I had afterwards made me worry if I did extensive damage. Like I said earlier, they have the car now/ I asked that they set the carburetor fuel adjustment right and I'm hoping they are competent enough to tell me what is wrong with it. If they go into the engine being a problem (which is weird because it idles great)... I'll fire back about the distributor possibly being an issue. Its hard to trust folks these days... I've had the car at their shop for 4 months and I've returned it twice due to wiring issues they were supposed to correct initially.
