lug nut pattern

I have a 74 stingray with a wheel rub problem. I need a 1/8" spacer for my rear wheels as the aftermarket rims are rubbing on the e-brake cable and lower trailing arm rubber bushing. What is the exact measurement of the lug pattern on a 74? IT's hard to judge with the wheel installed (cant hold a tape measure over the center cap and be exact). it looks like 4.5" any advice?

Chevy bolt patterns are basicly the same. The trick is getting the back spacing right. "Bubba" used washers on the "Starship", I don't recommend doin' that. [:'(]

Hey Nick,

Just my two cents worth: I would ditch the wheels and install ones with the proper back spacing. Using spacers on a Vetteis not a good idea. Using spacers on any kind of car with some power is questionable at best. Besides with all the new styles available you should be able to get a great look with aproper fit. Again just my two cents worth.

A more common fix for this problem is to move the parking brake cable bracket from the side of the trailing arm to the top. Then no spacers req'd. :)
