No heat

I have done some farther checking and reading up on this subject and found that my thermostat was bad. I replaced it and started the car up and found now that the bottom hose going into the firewall is not hot at all. What is that telling me?

It is telling you that the bottom hose going thru the firewall is not getting hot.

The heater control valve is probably closed or the coolant is not circulating thru the heater core and returning to the engine.

I replaced the control valve. Is it posible the valve is faulty? I also noticed that I have vacuum to the control valve until I move the switch over to heat inside the car then no vacuum to the valve.
Any ideas on this.

Thanks Denny

Denny, are you sure you have all the air purged from the cooling system, run the car through several warm-up and cool-down cycles and keep topping off the coolant bottle. If the engine is getting up to operating temp. and the cooling system is full you should be able to get hot water through the heater hoses. I can't remember which way the valve is positioned with vacuum applied but you can figure that out pretty easy if the system was working OK before you changed parts.
