A question re 1972 Convertible
 

:eek: Hi all... I'm planning to buy my 1st Corvette soon and need help regarding a 1972 Convertible I have seen online. Asking price is $12000, 60000miles, v-8, 350, auto, white with red leather interior. Looking at photos of this car and comparing to others of the same year, this car does not have the same chrome bumper?? Why would this be?? I am Australian, living and working in Alabama, and want to bring a C3 back to Australia with me. Can anyone help??

All 68-72 Corvettes had Chrome front and rear bumpers and they where virtually the same. If there was a difference I have never seen it or heard about it. It is impossible to tell what you are seeing from your description but they should all look alike.

You can go on ebay and look at cars for sale you can goggle any 68 to 72 Corvette and look at people's websits in order to see what their cars look like but there should be no visable difference even in Alabama.

Hello Chadstar, the 72 model is the last year with chrome bumpers on the front and rear of the car, the 73 is the last year to have any chrome bumpers, and they were only on the rear of the car, the front bumper was replaced that year with a 5mph urethane bumper tomeet federal standards. The 74 model has soft bumpers on both ends.
