rear end problems

I really need some help. My 72 vette has started to act funny while driving down the road. The back of the car will move from right to left (becomes Squirrely). This will happen without hitting any rough spots or any unusual situations. The whole undercarriage was replaced within the last 6 months and this just started the last time that I drove the vette. Can anyone give me some thoughts or insight on this situation. It really gets your attention when it happens.

Thanks, Jim

RE: rear end problems

I would start with putting the rear of the car on stands so that the suspention hangs freely. Push and pull on the tires side to side and top and bottom. Lay under the car next, and push and pull on all the componants. From what you are describing, there is play in the componants. Identify the looseness and adjust accordingly. If you need more detail, let me know.

RE: rear end problems

Thanks for the help and suggestion. It turned out to be the left rear control arm bushings that were worn out.

Thanks, Jim 72 Vette
