Rear rims and tires

Would like to know if anyone has tried to mount 10" rims with tires on a C3 vette. Would like some input please. Thanks.

I have Circa 1976 Western Wheels 15X10 on my 74, P235/70/r15 in the front and
P255/60/R15 in the rear. Very hard to find these any more.

The offset(which remains a mystery to me) as indicated by measuring the back spacing has more to do with whether or not the wheels will fit. If the backspacing is too deep the tires hit the trailing arms and if it's too shallow they stick out and the fenders rub on the tires! 10" wheels with the proper backspacing will fit.

Rims cont' -- Would like to know if anyone has tried to mount 10" rims with tires on a C3 vette. Would like some input please. Rims have a 5" backset. They are vette rally rims. Brake line and leaf spring hit rim. Need about 3/4" to fit. Does GM or any aftermarket company make different control arms and leaf spring to allow rims like this to fit? Don't want to use spacers. Thank you for your imput so far. By the way, nice vette(the white one).

You can get offset trailing arms to eliminate the wheel/tire interference problem there. Not sure how to handle the spring problem other than using shorter bolts which will raise the car. The stock bolts shouldn't allow the spring to hit the wheels tho.

Thanks 73shark. Checked with a couple of companies, for around $500 you can buy a set of offset trailing arms. Problem solved. Thank you everyone for the imput. I'm 56, just learning the computer thing. When I figure out this thing, I'll post some pictures of my 76 vette.
