smog pump,pollution devices

Any problems if I remove all the antiquated pollution control junk on my 77.L-48 motor needs all the help I can give it

The only prob I came across, is the smog control laws reguarding pollution devices. If your state is O. K. with it, ya, Pull that sh*t off. You'll gain some horses and it will clean up the engine compartment, making it less cluttered.

Hi ABC, I think theres a law against removing that stuff, your car wom't pass inspection with out it. By the way does anyone know what year GM started to install smog pumps on Corvettes?

It's not a fed law, each state, and even each county set there own requirements.

Hi Starship, that the way I heard it, Here in N,C, if you car is 35 years old you don't need a inspection. I guess they figure if your car is that old and still working your Ok.

Ya PG,
Here in Nevada, only the Las Vegas and Reno areas require smog checks. If your car is 25 yrs old, we still have to pass the test but equpment can be removed. The rest of the state is wide open to mods of any kind.
