transmission for my 1978
 

Hello,
I have just bought a 1978 corvette and began an absolute passion. This is my first corvette and a long time dream. Since I am new to the vette scene I am having troubles finding a rebuilt transmission w/ clutch. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Richard, you've found the best Vette site going. We have a good base of C3 owners on this site that are way happy to assist in any area. Congrats on your dream machine, I too am working on my first Vette, also a '78, I've had it for about 3 years. I assume you have the original 4-speed in your car, if that's the case then I would have it rebuilt or replace it with a 5 or 6 speed and keep the original, these cars are always more valuable with the original parts. I'll get back with you on some supplier names if other members don't beat me to it. Stay with us, you won't be sorry.

Richmond Transmission and Keisler Transmission both offer what you are looking for.
I have a Richmond in mine.
