Wanting to put C5 Z06 Wheels on my C3?
I've got a 1976 Corvette that I am currently customizing. I want to upgrade my wheels. It currenty has the cast aluminum mags on it. I am going to be installing drilled/slotted rotors and some good calipers. Now my question is does any one know ifI can put the 17" Z06 rims on my car. I know that they will not just bolt on, but I have seen a few spacer kits out their, in which you bolt the spacer on to the hub and it actually has different studs coming out of it to bolt the wheel to. The Z06 wheels that I am looking at are 17"x 9.5" with a 5 x 120.65mm stud pattern. I am also looking for anyone who makes a Z06 style wheel that will just bolt right up to my hubs. Any info will help. Thanks, Dan.

You can probably find spacers. Several downsides and challenges here though. First, you are adding a piece to a major stress area. Be careful, quality definitely counts here. Second, the 9.5" wheels will likely rub. You will need offset trailing arms on the rear to get the clearance, and probably a couple other slight modifications. You might be better off finding some aftermarket wheels that look like Z06 rims and are in the 8-8.5" width range.

I'm looking through Covette Fever right now trying to find an add I saw, someone has new style aftermarket wheels that fit the C3 without spacers, I'll let you know if I find the add.

Hey 76, I found the wheels I thought were in a magazine add but are actually in Mid America Motorworks catalog, this is the most recent one I have from them. The wheels are 17"x8" and are direct bolt on for C3's, hope this helps.

17x9.5" front with 275/40-17s
18x9.5" rear with 275/40-18s
2.5" adapters all around, but I had to modify my rear sway bar, stock trailing arms. See more pictures here:

Thanks, for all of your help guys. I will let you know how my '76 turns out. I will be putting it together in the next few months. My dead line is June 21, 2007 (first day of summer). I have an LT1 355 (bored .030 over 350) engine, with port and polished heads and intake, roller rockers, roller cam and roller lifters, ported throttle body and high flow fuel injectors. The engine will be backed up by a 6 speed T56 trans. The suspension is in the works right now, along with the brake system and under carrage. Thanks again, Dan.
