wide tires on rear wheels
On my 71 coupe, I want to go with 225/60 15 on rear wheels and 225/70 15 on front. Has anyone done that with these sizes? Being a boy of that era, I love that look.

I run 255/60-15 all around with no problems.

Tire guy told me that as long as I don't go over 2" wider that the wheel it's just fine. 8" wheel = 10" of rubber.

So that's probably true for the maximum Tire per wheel, I'm pretty sure it won't work on the rear without moving the parking brake cable attachment. And you might have to trim a little on the fenders up front and even then it will probably hit the frame at full lock.
Good to see you back Starship. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. |
Stock rim off-set puts edge of tire right at edge of wheel well. Suspension keeps the body off the tire. Sorry I don't have pics.
I drop by once a week at the library. No Wi-Fi where I live, too remote. Trees and mountains in the way. I love it here. |
