18"17" wheels and a 86 C4

So does any one know if the 18 " 17" wheel combo fits the 86 C4s .I have heard that you need spacers ,. What is the stock offset of the 86 wheels ? I would like to go with the newer 17" wheels (saw blades or spokes ) all around but have found so many good deals on the 18"17" units it is hard to pass up.
Cheers Rob

Hello,Rob.I'm not exactly sure about offset on your '86,but if you really wanted to go with a larger "17 CORVETTE wheel, like the five spoke or the saw blades, all you will need are spacers. But,you are not considering putting anything but a Vette wheel on your car,are ya??LOL!!! Besides, don't you think an older C4 would look great with upgraded CORVETTE wheels???? Have fun looking and choosing and good luck to you.Let me know what you decide,ok?

Hey Joe I am looking at a set of factory wheels from an 04 vette those thin spoke wheels look so hot but they run a 18" rear and 17" fronts on the newer vettes .I think you are right that I can use them but I would have to use spacers ( factory offset on the 86 is 38mm offset ) You don't have a set you want to donate to me eh? hahahaha all kidding aside I would hate to get a set off ebay and have them not fit .
Cheers Robert

To my friend Crash.I have a customer(I run a very succesful car wash business)who has '02 Z06 wheels on his '90.Now,I know the newer cars have different size wheels front and rear, but yet it may be possible for you to install at least the '17's.Hell,maybe the '18's as well since there is plenty of room on the C4 to accomodate larger wheels. It all depends, like you said,on offsets, but generally all Vettes(C4's on),may have very similar offsets so that you may be able to put bigger wheels on your car.And yes,I do have a spare set of the five spoke silver wheels, but,WELL,I'm not selling,unfortunately.HEH,HEH,HEH!!!.I think, eventually, you will find what you're looking for.Just keep searching and NEVER give up!!Let me know what you come up with,ok??Always,Joe.

My search continues, Thanks Joe , today I finished upholstering my sport seats , two days and twoblisters later I have them back in the car ,not too shabby for a first upholstering job ( cheated and bought new covers ) saved quite a few bucks but this job not for the faint of heart. I can't wait for summer to drive it again. now If I could find some 16" thin 5 spoke wheels.
Cheers all
