1984 Crossfire Wiring questions on Blower Motor Relay

First off Happy Holiday's and hope everyone got a corvette part or two for Christmas! It's been a while since I have been on here but thanks to Mech259 on my last issue has helped me, now it's cold as hell out and ice all over the roads with NO Heater working! So I have narrowed it down to a fine point and want to clarify here a question for some of the wiring experts in here...

What are the wires for in the relay

One is red (Presume it's power), blue and and there are two more...

Just needing all the specs on these wires so I can make sure I'm doing this right and not mess anything else up.

However hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season again!

All the best!

RE: 1984 Crossfire Wiring questions on Blower Motor Relay

If it is a four wire relay, you should source voltage, load output, control voltage for the coil in the relay, and ground for the coil. In other words, you should have 2 heavy wires and 2 smaller wires. The 2 big ones are for the load (blower motor), the 2 smaller are for the coil in the relay to energize the electromagnet in the relay to pull the load contacts together. This is how any 4 wire relay works, now most early GM's had a high speed blower relay that only works in the high posistion to take the load of the circuit because of the higher demand. [8D]
