I have a 1993 Vette and was taking my K&N Air Filter out to clean it. When I took it out, stupidly I forgot to check which way to put it back in. If anyone knoes which way to put it back in I would greatly appreciate it. I feel so stupid, but I have to put it back in.

My 94 has the gasket on the filter towards the front as it sits in the vehicle. In other words, the gasket faces the upper (larger)half of the filter housing.

 

From what I understand the thicker part of the edge should sit towards the engine with the thinner part towards the outer edge of the air cleaner cover. Does this help???

 

Mine ('94) is sittin' beside me right here. Just got it on ebay.

I almost did that with my paper element, when I brought this boxhome in May, and checked/cleaned the A/F housing. YIKES!
