Default Anybody seen this before?

Hey guys, I have an 84 corvette that has what looks like a strut tower brace in the rear compartment (see picture). Obviously our cars donít have struts so im wondering what is this and is it factory? Iíve never seen another c4 with this and nothing came up in my searches so Iím throwing it out to the forum for your opinions.

ok I tried to attach the picture but I guess itís not working.

Hard to say w/o a picture but maybe what's left of a roll cage.

Could be, but Iím not so sure. The car is stock other than a shift kit, aluminum rad and Borla exhaust. Whatís the trick to posting a picture? I tried going to ďmanage attachmentsĒ and uploading it that way but it doesnít work.

Take a look here: https://www.banskimotorsports.com/c4-irs.html
Scroll down to the bottom and look at the links on the trailing arms, camber rods and toe rods and see if any of those are in the area you're talking about.
That's your basic rear suspension parts, anything else likely was added later, Understand this site is for suspension upgrades but these pages show where the parts are located on the car.

After looking around more online, what my car has looks a lot like a ďcross braceĒ that was offered in the aftermarket. Oddly enough, I couldnít find a pic of one that was exactly like the one in my car, itís a very stout looking piece of tube shaped steel. At least I know what it is now, thanks guys.
