Anybody seen this before?
Hey guys, I have an 84 corvette that has what looks like a strut tower brace in the rear compartment (see picture). Obviously our cars don’t have struts so im wondering what is this and is it factory? I’ve never seen another c4 with this and nothing came up in my searches so I’m throwing it out to the forum for your opinions.
ok I tried to attach the picture but I guess it’s not working.

Could be, but I’m not so sure. The car is stock other than a shift kit, aluminum rad and Borla exhaust. What’s the trick to posting a picture? I tried going to “manage attachments” and uploading it that way but it doesn’t work.

Take a look here: https://www.banskimotorsports.com/c4-irs.html
Scroll down to the bottom and look at the links on the trailing arms, camber rods and toe rods and see if any of those are in the area you're talking about.
That's your basic rear suspension parts, anything else likely was added later, Understand this site is for suspension upgrades but these pages show where the parts are located on the car.

After looking around more online, what my car has looks a lot like a “cross brace” that was offered in the aftermarket. Oddly enough, I couldn’t find a pic of one that was exactly like the one in my car, it’s a very stout looking piece of tube shaped steel. At least I know what it is now, thanks guys.
